My research focuses on amphibian evolution through museomics, with special emphasis on the interplay between adaptation and polyploidy: how adaptive processes contribute to the emergence and establishment of polyploids, and how polyploid lineages subsequently adapt and diversify.

I am satisfying my broad interest in evolutionary biology using experience in botany, genomics and ecology. In my PhD, I study genome duplication in the largest aquatic plant genus Potamogeton using our rich herbarium collection and several genome assemblies. I enjoy solving scientific questions through careful and purposeful data wrangling, supplementing it with hands-on work in the lab when needed. I also keep an eye for plants in the wild and take every opportunity to expand the sampling, in Potamogeton and beyond.
