"Chemical proteomics approaches for the study of (intramembrane) proteases"

Download as iCal file
Thursday 04 October 2018, 14:00 - 15:30

"Covalent chemical probes are crucial tools in chemical biology for the study of enzymes, mechanisms of covalent drugs and post-translational modifications. My lab has embarked upon the development of covalent chemical probes for serine and cysteine proteases. A particular interest in my lab concerns the study of intramembrane serine proteases, also known as rhomboid proteases. Some of the challenges that rhomboid protease research faces, include easy access to selective inhibitors and a reliable source of purified rhomboid proteases from different species.
In this presentation, I will discuss recent efforts regarding rhomboid inhibitor design, new ways to reconstitute rhomboid proteases in lipid nanodiscs and chemical probe development for soluble proteases."
