Senior Biostatistician @ Applied Bioinformatics and Biostatistics
Dr. Véronique Storme graduated in 1989 from the Katholieke Hogeschool Brugge-Oostende as a Biochemist. After a research job at the Interdisciplinar Research Center in Kortrijk (KULeuven) and Corvas International, she joined Ghent University in 1995 and VIB in 1996. Under the leadership of Prof. Wout Boerjan, she developed an interest in statistical genetics. She started the master after master program in Statistical Data Analysis in 2006 and graduated in 2008. Her thesis entitled 'Integration of Transcriptomics and Metabolomics for understanding Lignin Biosynthesis' was awarded with the Quetelet Prize. In 2015, she decided to consolidate her previous research work into a PhD thesis and received the title of Doctor of Science in 2016. Since 2008, she is active as a biostatistician. In 2018, she also started lecturing the course in Statistical Computing in the UGent master program of Statistical Data Analysis.
