Being a systems biology department, we strongly integrate the different disciplines genetics, genomics and bioinformatics allowing to create a real “systems biology view” on the biological processes we study. This means that we have all expertise in-house to ask the relevant biological questions, to setup the key experiments with a “single gene” up to a “genome-wide” perspective and, importantly, to interpret the large datasets and integrate them with existing knowledge in a biologically meaningful manner. The central biological processes for our systems biology approaches are cell cycle and growth control in plants.
