Revolutionary technology for use in plant breeding

In collaboration with researchers at VIB-UGent and The University of Antwerp (UA), scientists at the BioScience business group of Bayer CropScience AG in Gent have developed a technology that can significantly increase crop yields as well as make them more resistant to unfavorable growing conditions. It is based on selecting plants that make more efficient use of energy.

Wetenschappers van de BioScience business groep van Bayer CropScience AG in Gent hebben in samenwerking met collega’s van VIB-UGent en de Universiteit Antwerpen, een techniek ontwikkeld om de opbrengst van gewassen te verhogen en ze tegelijkertijd meer bestand te maken tegen ongunstige groeiomstandigheden. Deze technologie is gebaseerd op het selecteren van planten met een efficiënter energieverbruik.
