6-7 November 2009 at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory in Heidelberg, Germany The 10th joint EMBO/EMBL Science & Society Conference examines the future of sustainable agriculture from the perspectives of plant science, technology and society. How can science contribute to addressing global challenges such as the requirement to feeding a growing world population, climate change and biological threats to crop yields? How can the public make informed decisions as to the safety and effectiveness of the new technologies that hope to overcome the battle against hunger?
