Katrien Vanderkelen

kakel2In 2001, Katrien Van Der Kelen graduated in Biotechnology at Ghent University. The following years, she was working on the transcriptional and post-transcriptional regulation of the cell cycle in tobacco cell suspensions and obtained her PhD at PSB in 2007. In 2008, she joined the oxidative stress and cell death group to study abiotic stress tolerance mechanisms in oilseed rape.

Styliani Tsiatsiane

lianabStyliani (Liana) Tsiatsiani graduated in 2005 as an Engineer of crop sciences from the Agricultural University of Crete (Greece). Then she moved to Wageningen (The Netherlands) where she acquired her MSc in Plant Biotechnology in 2007. She specialized in plant Functional Genomics and performed a practical training at KEYGENE N.V. for 4 months. In November 2007 she joined PSB and the VIB Department of Medical Protein Research after being selected for the VIB International Ph.D. Program. She is currently working on the identification and functional characterization of metacaspase substrates in Arabidopsis.

Cezary Waszczak

cewasCezary Waszczak graduated in Biotechnology at Warsaw University of Life Sciences in 2007. Then as a Marie Curie fellow he moved to France, where he was involved in characterization of cytoplasmic male sterility in Arabidopsis thaliana. After an 8-month stage at INRA, Versailles he was selected for the VIB International Ph.D. Program. In September 2008 he joined PSB and VUB. Currently he is investigating ROS signal transduction in plants.
